Corporate Social Responsibility

Opus 2 International and its employees stationed around the globe are active contributors to their local communities. The following are a few of the programs Opus 2 actively supports.

East London Advanced Technology Training (ELATT)

Opus 2 and ELATT are working together to tackle London's skills and community needs. Seventy seven per cent of London based technology businesses feel they could grow faster if there were more skilled people available, with almost half saying a shortage of skilled workers was their biggest challenge. Meanwhile, there are still 295,000 unemployed Londoners, many under 25 years of age. The partnership between Opus 2 International and ELATT provides the perfect response to this. By equipping jobseekers with the technical skills that businesses need, the partnership can solve both these challenges at a single stroke.

A Proven, Win-Win Partnership

Opus 2 was immediately 'hooked' by the enthusiasm of ELATT's staff and found it shared ELATT's core values and beliefs. This led to Opus 2 delivering some CV and interview practice workshops for learners so that they could better prepare themselves for a working environment. We now run these workshops a minimum of three times a year so that we can continually support the development of the ELATT learners and help to get more people into employment after they have completed their studies.

The company has since developed a work experience program as well and offers placements for learners with our technical delivery team. The program initially started as four-week placements but has been extended to a three month program for each learner.

Rainforest Concern

Opus 2 International is committed to implementing environmentally sound working practices, and we continually seek to minimise our impact on the environment.

With our technologies, legal documents can be annotated and shared over the internet, helping clients to reduce printing costs and eliminating the need to create multiple hard copies. On just one of our recent cases, our clients estimated that Magnum technology saved the printing of over 5 million pages in hard copy.

As our business grows, so do the benefits of the online working we promote, helping the legal industry to become more environmentally friendly. In fact, Opus 2 International received the 2013 Business Green Leaders IT Award in recognition of its ground-breaking technology and services which help to reduce the use of paper during legal proceedings around the world. In further dedication to conservation of the environment, Opus 2 has implemented sound environmental practices within its infrastructure, including certified recycling practices and conservation of natural resources whenever possible.

Opus 2 has nominated Rainforest Concern as its sponsored environmental charity and supports its efforts to protect threatened natural habitats.

Temple Music Foundation

Opus 2 has been a repeat annual sponsor of the Temple Music Foundation in London. Temple Music continues to develop year on year its increasingly established and acclaimed programme of choral and chamber concerts, song recital, organ recitals, and occasional staged performances of dramatic works and operas.

The Foundation was established to support and promote music in the Temple and to contribute resources when possible towards the education of the Temple Church's choristers.
