EcoVadis
EcoVadis is an independent sustainability assessment that considers a company’s material impacts based on four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Ranking in the top 8 percent, Opus 2 earned an EcoVadis Gold Medal. We’re proud that our scores were in the 93+ percentile, and we’ll continue to maintain and improve in all four key areas.
Our last assessment date was December 2023.
Science Based Targets
The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) helps businesses establish a defined path to reduce emissions in alignment with the Paris Agreement.
In 2023, Opus 2 extended our commitment to carbon reduction by adopting targets approved by the SBTi. By 2030, we will have reduced our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 46 percent. We continually measure our Scope 3 emissions and find new ways to reduce them.
Campaign for Greener Arbitrations
The Campaign for Greener Arbitrations is an initiative to reduce the carbon footprint of international arbitrations.
As a founding member, Opus 2 built the organisation’s website and now hosts and supports it. Additionally, Opus 2 Business Development Director Taryn Auchecorne serves on the global steering committee as well as the marketing and content task force.
How technology plays a vital role in sustainable arbitration
There’s an increasing adoption of more sustainable practises in arbitration. As law firms and their clients find ways to cut their environmental impact, there’s a growing realisation that arbitration technology and sustainability are connected. In a recent article, we describe how dispute resolution technology is enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility—while improving sustainability in arbitration.
Greener Litigation
The Greener Litigation Pledge is an initiative to reduce the environmental impact of dispute resolution.
Opus 2 is a founding signatory and steering committee member committed to supporting litigation stakeholders as they adopt environmentally friendly practises. Additionally, Carlos Carvalho, Senior Business Development Consultant leads the Greener Litigation Court Technology Group.
UN Global Compact
Network UK
The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, whose participants are committed to building a sustainable future.
Opus 2 is a proud signatory of the UN Global Compact. We incorporated the UN Global Compact’s principles on human rights, labour standards, environment, and anti-corruption into our business strategy, company culture, and day-to-day operations. We joined in 2023.
UN Sustainable
Development Goals
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
Of these goals, Opus 2 prioritises the three areas where we have the best opportunity to drive change and make an impact; industry, innovation and infrastructure, climate action, and responsible consumption and production.
